To ensure operational continuity during a period of high demand, DHL, FedEx & UPS will be activating Demand Surcharges effective from October 1st 2026.
Charges apply in GBP per kg (billing weight), based on the shipment’s origin and destination. Fuel Surcharge applies.
Peak Demand Surcharge UK- there will be a new surcharge rate of £0.10 per kilo plus fuel.
Peak Demand Surcharge Europe – there will be a new surcharge rate of £0.30 per kilo plus fuel.
Peak Demand Surcharge USA & Canada – there will be a new surcharge rate of £0.50 per kilo plus fuel.
Peak Demand Surcharge Rest of World- there will be a new surcharge rate of £0.80 per kilo plus fuel.
WHY IS THIS SURCHARGE BEING IMPLEMENTED?

However, during peak demand periods, shipment volumes can fluctuate significantly and exceed our network’s capacity base levels.
In recent years, global trade has experienced unprecedented volatility, making it increasingly unpredictable and challenging. The Demand Surcharge enables us to allocate additional resources and capacity where needed, helping with the navigation of these complexities and the delivery of the high-quality service you expect.
