U.S. ‘de minimis’ exemption will end on August 28 2025

Effective August 29th, the U.S. will eliminate duty-free de minimis treatment for all imported goods, regardless of origin. This means that every shipment valued at or below 800 USD will now be subject to applicable duties, taxes and fees, which could impact your customs clearance process.

The following information is essential on your air waybill or commercial invoice to help your shipments move smoothly and avoid delays:

• Clear and detailed description of goods
• Identification of the applicable Incoterm
• Manufacturer Identification Code (MID) code

Should you not wish for your receiver (consignee) to pay duties and taxes upon arrival into the USA, a DDP arrangement option is always available to you from Olympex Global.
